ProEst Takeoff Software Wins Constructechs 2009 Top Products Award in the Residential Market

Second annual residential Top Products Awards recognizes ProEst Takeoff as an enhanced product that delivers an innovative technology solution.
SAN DIEGO, Calif., February 1, 2009: ProEst Estimating Software, a leading provider of construction estimating and takeoff technology solutions, today announced that its ProEst Takeoff software has received a 2009 Top Products Award in the Residential Market, Enhanced Product category, from Constructech magazine.

The Constructech Top Products Awards honor technology solutions geared toward the homebuilding market. Winning products, selected by the editorial team at Constructech, were chosen for their innovation and ability to demonstrate successful results. Award recipients were announced in the February 2009 issue of Constructech Residential.

Introduced in 2000, ProEst Takeoff is used by over 3,500 contractors nationwide. For the residential construction estimator, ProEst Takeoff provides an easy and accurate method of measuring lengths, areas and counts. Tight integration with leading estimating programs and Microsoft Excel makes transferring takeoff quantities to the estimate seamless.

The recent introduction of ProEst Takeoff 2009, the latest version of this award-winning takeoff software, incorporates digital takeoff technology to allow estimators to perform takeoffs on-screen using electronic blueprints and a mouse. This capability, which helped ProEst Takeoff stand out from the Top Products Awards competition, increases efficiency by 50 percent compared to traditional takeoff methods. Paperless takeoffs also reduce printing costs and storage space.

ProEst Estimating commitment to enhancing its products with new technology is demonstrated in the just-released ProEst Takeoff 2009. This new software release includes digital takeoff technology for performing take-offs on screen using electronic plans and a mouse, which saves time and storage space, and reduces the costs associated with printing paper plans.

The features and enhancements that contributed to ProEst Takeoffs recognition as a Top Product include:

-Flexibility to perform takeoffs on-screen or using a digitizer
-The option to eliminate paper and go green with takeoffs
-MagniPoint technology to magnify a single measurement point
-Support for many digital file types, including PDF, TIF and AutoCAD

The technology solutions selected for the Constructech Top Products Awards demonstrate remarkable innovation in a challenging environment, said Peggy Smedley, editorial director of Constructech. I commend all of this years winners for helping builders compete in an unforgiving marketplace and helping the industry make the most out of all of the available resources.
